This Privacy Policy is for Signal Computers (hereafter referred to as ‘Us’ and ‘We’ and ‘Our’ and ‘Signal Computers’ interchangeably).

Data that may be collected and how it may be used:

From our Website:

If you contact us via the website, using the email address or a Contact Form, we will use this information to contact you and to answer any query. We may store your name, telephone number, email address, address at which support is to be provided and invoice address if different and a brief nature of the request (e.g. provide quote to fix broken computer).

From Telephone Calls:

If you contact us via our telephone number, we will use this information to contact you and to answer any query. We may store your name, telephone number, email address, address at which support is to be provided and invoice address if different and a brief nature of the request (e.g. provide quote to fix broken computer).

From Support Visits:

Following on from an email or telephone request, you may ask us to provide IT services or support. In doing so, we may store directly relevant details in order to produce a relevant invoice, in order that we can keep relevant records for administration and accounting purposes and so that we are better able to respond to further queries. (e.g. on ‘date’, we diagnosed a faulty hard drive and replaced it with a ‘model’).

From Licensing or Subscription Services:

Where we provide services such as Microsoft Office 365 or Software Licensing, we may be required to store further details in order to provide the service. These may include number of computers, software or license provided, number of users, key contact names, VAT numbers etc. You may wish to view the Privacy Policies for the Companies that provide such Licensing and Subscription services.

Website Use:

Our website and its use of Cookies obtains no data that makes you personally identifiable (unless you send these to us using any Contact Us’ form or email us.

However, it is very useful for us to see how popular our website is and how it is used, for instance  which pages are popular, which links you click on, how long you spend on pages, which web browser you used to access our website, your IP address.

 What we do with your data

Your data is stored encrypted on our systems.

We will never share your data without your prior permission. Data may need to be shared for the supply of some goods or services or in the provision of support. For instance, we need to share certain data with Microsoft in order to supply Office 365 Subscription Services and in order to provide advanced Technical Support we may need to share your data with Microsoft or other appointed support Companies.

We will never sell your data.

We will only share your data in order to provide support or services that you have requested and agreed to. You will be informed who this is and why. 

We will be forced however to provide data that is required by Law, such as by court order or in the provision of accounts or VAT records to HMRC.

How long we keep your data

Data is kept as long as is necessary by law and in the requirements of good accounting.

Support details may be kept for longer as long as you remain a customer – this enables us to provide faster, better support and to answer your queries on past support. You may request at any time for these details to be erased. Once you inform us that you no longer wish to be a customer, your details will be archived for a year then deleted (unless required for longer by law or for good accounting practice)

Children’s protection

Signal Computers does not provide support to children without an adult in attendance.  We will require adults to request support or services, adults to be present during support and all payments and agreements to be made by adults.

Data stored outside of our Systems

We use Microsoft Office 365 for email and some storage purposes and some of your data may therefore be stored with Microsoft. This is usually within UK data centres. However we may on occasion use other reputable services for email or storage and although our preference is for UK Data Centres, this is not always the case. If this is an issue for you or your business, please let us know and we can make special provision for your circumstances.

What you may do about us holding your data

You can request a copy of the data we hold on you

You may request that the personal data we hold on you is deleted

You may ask us to address any inaccuracies in the data we hold
